Floriann Blackhorse
Clinical Supervisor
Floriann, was born and raised on the Navajo reservation in northern Arizona. She attended the University of Arizona, Haskell Indian Nations University and Arizona State University. She has worked with a myriad of populations but has always had a focus on ethnic communities, particularly Indigenous communities, where there aren't many care providers available. She has also worked as an adjunct professor at South Mountain Community College and associate professor in the school of social work at Arizona State University.
Floriann Blackhorse is a licensed clinical social worker. She has been a social worker in Arizona for more than 15 years. Her areas of expertise are addictions, trauma, and ethnic issues. Her work has included providing acute crisis intervention to individuals with serious mental illness and general mental health issues. She has experience offering group therapy and individual therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings, traditional couch therapy in her private practice and has also supervised masters level students and fellow social workers.

With a distinguished background in management and leadership within the Behavioral Health field, I bring extensive experience and dedication to Smiling Spirits Generations. As a devoted recovery and treatment motivator, my passion lies in inspiring individuals towards positive change and lasting wellness.

Tyler Brantley
Program Director
Tyler Brantley is a dedicated case manager for Smiling Spirits, bringing five years of experience in behavioral health to the role. Having personally battled addiction throughout much of childhood and adult life, Tyler understands the complexities of recovery on a deep level. This personal journey fuels their passion for helping others, providing compassionate support and guidance to individuals seeking to transform their lives. At Smiling Spirits, Tyler works to ensure clients receive the care and resources they need to successfully reenter society and thrive.
Desiree Carra
Support Specialist
Desiree Carra is a dedicated Peer Support Specialist with nearly three years of experience as a group facilitator in the substance use field. Currently pursuing Behavioral Health Sciences at South Mountain Community College, she excels in delivering culturally sensitive curriculum tailored to diverse communities. Passionate about her work, Desiree thrives on connecting with others and values the opportunity to make meaningful acquaintanceships in her field.
Andre Carver

Andres holds a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Psychology from Lane College (1991-1995). He excels in implementing productivity-enhancement systems and supporting community-based programs like residential treatment, mentoring, and after-school programs. Andres has facilitated groups on independent living skills, provided mentorship for children in the juvenile justice system, and holds certifications in CPR, B.I.R.P. method, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, and a State of Arizona fingerprint clearance card. Previously, he served as a Career Transition Counselor at Job Corps and as a Road Supervisor at Gila River Health Care
Julie Fox

Julie Fox is a passionate case manager who is dedicated to helping individuals successfully navigate the reentry process. With a deep commitment to supporting those reintegrating into society after incarceration, Julie brings both empathy and expertise to her role. Her focus is on providing the necessary resources, guidance, and encouragement to help clients rebuild their lives and find long-term success.
